Photography and Video Studio Internship (El Paso, Texas)

Studio Rise is seeking five creative and enthusiastic candidates for our three month internship (March 14, 2020 - June 14, 2020). Interns will be introduced to studio photography and cinematography and receive hands on training with a variety of equipment, including (but not limited to) cameras, rigs, strobes, and stabilizers. Interns will be taught the practical use of Photoshop and various video editing software. Interns will receive classes from staff as well as guest instructors, and will be required to assist in the production of real-world media, including (but not limited to) television commercials, modeling shoots, family portraits, music videos, concerts, nightlife photography and video, and weddings. After successfully completing the internship, the candidate should be able to work in a studio environment and compete for paid photography and cinematography work in their area of interest. Although employment is not guaranteed for participants, interns are eligible for paid work in the second month of the internship, and interns can apply to become permanent team members.

Requirements

Attention to detail is a must. Though the studio will strive to keep training errors from reaching actual customers, the intern must have awareness and be willing to ask questions if they are unsure of something.

Interns are expected to have at least 1-2 active profiles on social media platforms such as Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and  Instagram.

Interns must be able to work in a stressful environment and handle criticism well. Studio work is repetitive; the candidate may feel they have mastered a particular task, but to be effective in this environment, a photographer must be able to execute tasks quickly and with a high degree of accuracy.

Interns must have reliable transportation and demonstrate personal reliability, to include timeliness.

Intern must be available 15-20 hours per week. Schedules will vary by individual, but the candidate should be available either Sunday morning or Wednesday morning for group activities.

Interns must be able to dress professionally, though this is not a daily requirement.

Interns should be at least 18 years of age; however, 17 year old high school seniors with strong interest in film or photography may also apply.

Preferred:

College students majoring in either film, journalism or performing arts.

Candidates who are outgoing and self-motivated
